The concept of ‘managing your health’ or ‘staying healthy’ often translates to eating healthy and regular exercise, while going to the doctor associated with being sick. In fact, visiting the doctor regularly for preventive care is an important part of staying healthy.

Our body is a dynamic and constantly changing living being. Therefore, periodic health screening allows early detection of diseases previously unknown to the individual. These may include heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, prostate enlargement and cancer which are the leading causes of death in developed countries and often have no symptoms until advanced stages when treatment may be a bit late.

In addition to prostate cancer, there are two other common prostate problems experienced by men. The first is benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or an enlarged prostate. It is estimated that more than 50 % of men in their 60s, and as many as above 80 % of men in their 70s or older have some symptoms of an enlarged prostate. The third most common prostate problem is prostatitis, which is the inflammation of the prostate and is often caused by a bacterial infection. Prostate health checkups are an important screen for men; they are one of the best ways to diagnose various forms of prostatic ailments and problems. These ailments are most treatable when identified early. Because of this, medical professionals recommend screenings begin between the ages of 40 to 50 years old. The frequency of the exam depends on your risk level – don`t worry, that`s why we are here for you.

Any special preparations needed?

You do not need to fast proceeding for PSA blood test. We recommend that you drink considerable amounts of water before coming to the Center, so that we can accurately assess your urinary flow rate.

When will I know the result?

For your convenience, all services included in your prostate health checkup will be concluded within the same visit. Within a maximum of 24 hours, all results will be available for you to discuss with your Urologist and receive recommendations along with a medical report.
